National Television Awards Round-Up

Last night the cream of the British television crop treaded the red carpet in London for the 17th National Television Awards hosted by Dermot O’Leary. This year’s NTA’s made winners out of popular period drama Downton Abbey as well as Coronation Street for Most Popular Serial Drama and I’m A Celebrity... for Most Popular Reality Programme. ITV’s The X Factor pipped the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing to the Most Popular Talent Show award, whilst individual awards went to the likes of Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith and Karen Gillan and Coronation Street‘s Katherine Kelly.

On the red carpet itself, there were some stunning dresses – for both the right and wrong reasons! – and some great hairstyles. Little Mix, the winners of The X Factor, were looking bang-on trend as they continue to amaze everyone with their colourful style and big and beautiful hair. Anna Till, stylist and a member of our Artistic Team at our Brent Cross salon, says, “Big curly hair, smooth rock-chick-look with accessories in their hair is what it’s all about for them right now. Big on personality, big on style.”

Many of the gents were looking particularly dapper in their sharp suits and clean-cut images. Mark Wright of TOWIE appeared with I’m A Celebrity… and wore his hair neatly tapered with a good helping of gel to complete his smooth suited and booted look. A short, neat cut that was both modern and stylistically retro, Mr. Barlow wore the sides and back short whilst keeping the length on top and styled to the side.

For Jayne Dempsey, a stylist and member of our Artistic Team at our Trafford Centre salon, the best hair of the night went to Fearne Cotton. Complimenting her 1920′s-style dress to perfection, her slick-back hair and understated, quirky style looked amazing and complimented her personality down to a tee.

Congratulations to all the winners and commiserations to the runners-up. Perhaps next year will be their year? Either way, we’re looking forward to some fab new trends this time in 2013!

The long awaited series three of The Only Way is Essex was shown on our screens this weekend – TOWIE fan Deepa Tailor, a stylist at our Kingston salon and a member of the Regis Artistic Team, couldn’t wait to share her thoughts on the new TOWIE tresses…

Following some heated anticipation over the summer, with the break ups and make ups, I was glued to my screen this weekend for some great TOWIE action, hair ‘dos, heels, and glam!

The new season also brings some fabulous makeovers! Gemma Collins, once a curvy blonde is now a slender brunette. This is great colour, full of warmth tones and is great look for Autumn/Winter.

Sam Faiers has gone for more of a sophisticated look, as she has ditched the blonde locks and opted for a soft, multi- tonal look which adds a great contrast to the overall style. Ask your Regis stylist to add lo lights to your hair to recreate Sam’s look.

The Only Way is Essex star, Lauren Goodger, attended the launch of our new N’OW @ Regis nail and brow bar at Debenhams in Romford, Essex!

Lauren popped along to the N’OW @ Regis nail and brow bar to officially open the store, say hello to her fans and get her nails pampered!

Lauren had a great day and we’re sure she’ll be popping back into the N’OW Bar to treat her nails again soon!

The Only Way is Essex star, Lauren Goodger, will be attending our new N’OW @ Regis nail and brow bar at Debenhams in Romford, Essex tomorrow! Everyone here at Regis HQ is super excited to meet Lauren and so to celebrate we asked Julie Anne Giannandrea, Artistic Director and Head of Education for Regis, for her thoughts on Lauren Goodger’s hairstyle and her top tips on how you can recreate Lauren’s look…

Lauren has a great look which is such a popular style right now and so versatile! She can wear her hair loose and natural with just a hint of a curl for the daytime, but come the evening and a visit to the Sugarhut, she can up the glamour stakes by adding volume.
